TYPOE Sculpture Garden at The Underline

CONNECT Engineering’s personnel provided their engineering expertise on this unique project which transformed a section of the Underline linear park into a vibrant sculpture garden and gathering area. The project is located between SW 11th St and SW 10th St in downtown Miami. 

 

The purpose of the project was to create a space for connection and belonging by bringing to life the imagination of Miami artist TYPOE through large scale sculpture icons that are inspired by children’s building blocks. CONNECT provided site layout support, paving and grading design, and permitting support as part of the EstudioLAAVA team. The entire design team worked through an accelerated schedule to make the grand opening of the sculpture garden align with the annual international art fair—Art Basel—which takes place in December. The project continues being embraced by the local community and visitors.
